Hasaranga, Binura Fernando fined for violating LPL Code of Conduct

Kandy Falcons Captain Wanindu Hasaranga and Colombo Strikers fast bowler Binura Fernando have both been fined for breaching the Lanka Premier League (LPL) Code of Conduct and Clothing and Equipment Regulations during matches. 

Fernando has been fined 20% of his match fee and handed over a demerit point for breaching the player’s code of conduct during a game between the Colombo Strikers and Kandy Falcons played on 2 July.

Fernando was reported for disobeying the umpires’ instructions, which is a breach of Article 2.4 of the LPL Code of Conduct. The player admitted to the offense during the inquiry. He was also charged 25% of his match fee for violating the LPL Clothing and Equipment Regulations.

Hasaranga was fined 25% of his match fee for violation of LPL Clothing and Equipment Regulations during the same game.

The LPL resumes today after yesterday’s rest day with two double-headers. Kandy Falcons meet Jaffna Kings at 3 p.m., and Dambulla Sixers take on Galle Marvels at 7:30 p.m.
