The world’s leading T20I bowler Wanindu Hasaranga added another feather to his cap when he was named the Player of the Tournament after bowling Deccan Gladiators to a 56-run win over Delhi Bulls in the final of the Abu Dhabi T10 played at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.

Powered by Andre Russell’s innings of 90 not out off 32 balls (seven 6s, nine 4s) and fellow opener Tom Kohler-Cadmore’s 59 not out off 28 balls (five 6s, three 4s) the Gladiators thumped a massive 159 for no loss off 10 overs.

Bulls could manage only 103-7 in reply, with Hasaranga taking 2 for 20 including that of top scorer Chandrapaul Hemraj for 42. Hasaranga ended as the tournament’s highest wicket-taker with 21 wickets (avg. 9.28) from 12 matches and was named Player of the Tournament.
