Wanindu Hasaranga celebrates with a wicket for RCB against Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sri Lanka’s leg-spin all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga took his first five-for in the ongoing IPL tournament for Royal Challengers Bangalore as he spearheaded their win by 67 runs over Sunrisers Hyderabad in their match played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai yesterday.

After RCB skipper Faf du Plessis had got them to a challenging total of 192-3 with a 50-ball knock of 73*, Hasaranga put the Sunrisers batting under the pump with a destructive spell that brought him figures of five for 18 and along with it the Player of the Match award.

Sunrisers were dismissed for 125 in 19.2 overs and the win saw RCB consolidate their fourth position in the points table.

Hasaranga is now the second highest wicket-taker in the IPL with 21 wickets, one less than another leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal of Rajasthan Royals.
