Randitha Warnapura of Havies held by two Police players

Havelock Sports Club returned to winning ways when they beat Police Sports Club by 16 points (1 try, 1 conversion, 3 penalties) to 5 points (1 try) in their Nippon Paint Inter Club Rugby League 2023/2024 encounter that concluded at Police Park over the weekend.
At the short breather Park Club led 13/0.
The game was far from below standards by both teams, full of errors. Havies drew first blood in the 11th minute through Samuel Maduwantha’s long range penalty kick. Randitha Warnapura scored Havies first try in the 33rd minute Samuel Maduwantha added the extra 2 points. On stroke of half time Maduwantha 2nd penalty took the Park Club to 13/0 lead at the short breather.
Hirantha Perera scored Cops first try in the 55th minute of the game. Prince Chamara kick at goal was missed. Police SC hope for bonus losing point for the game was dashed as Maduwantha was on target with another penalty kick to take them to safety at 16/5 plus take home the Gamini Fernando Memorial Trophy.
