Sharo Fernando being the workhorse for the Park Club
By Shamseer Jaleel
Second semi-final encounter which will be worked off on 21 March at Racecourse, Havies will lock horns with the Army unit today.
Havies outclassed Navy while Army shocked the much fancied CH & FC. Havies got the best set of forwards and backs. Reza Mubarak, Sharo Fernando, Mithun Hapugoda and Chamara Dabare will need to play vital roles for the Park Club to target the Clifford Cup which they last won in 1981. Mithun being outstanding for the Park Club coming late in the second half had made some remarkable performances. He will be starting off which will put the Solders under pressure with his dancing style of rugby and it is very difficult to predict his next move.
Meanwhile the Solders will depend heavily on Ashoka Jayalal, Medagedera,
Rizvi and Gayan Salinda to fire all cylinders in order to win the Cup after they won way back in 1975.
On form Havies should pull it off.
