The Nippon Inter-Club rugby league encounter between Havelock SC and Army SC was stopped at half time and the continuation was out of the question as heavy rain flooded the ground at Panagoda.
Havies were leading at the short breather 17/8. According to tournament rules, the match has to be played within the next 48 hours. The game will be now continued at Ratmalana today for the second half commencing at 4:30 p.m.
Havies and Army both put over a penalty in the early stages of the game. Sandesh Jayawickrema did the kicking for Havies while Isuru Medegedera for the Solders. The Park club scored their first try through former Thomian player Christian de Lile. Sandesh added the extras. Army scored off Nalan Premanath with Isuru adding the extras. At the stroke of half time, Nivanka Prasad scored for the Park club with Sandesh adding the extras.
