Hayleys, CL Synergy vie for MCA Super Premier League T20 tomorrow

Hayleys Group and CL Synergy entered the Final of the 30th Singer - MCA Super Premier League T+20 tournament 2023, which will be played this Sunday 21 May at the MCA Grounds, commencing 10 .00 a.m. 

In the Semi Finals played yesterday Hayleys beat Fairfirst Insurance by three wickets with two deliveries to spare; whilst CL Synergy beat CDB Finance in an unusual manner.

In the top half Semi Final at MCA, Hayleys chasing a victory target of 149 runs in 20 overs, was looking down the barrel at 68 for 07 in 12.4 overs.

Hayleys made marvellous recovery through an unbeaten 08th wicket stand of 84 runs in 42 balls, between Ashen Bandara (68 not out in 28 balls, inclusive of 05 sixes and 05 fours) and Kavishka Anjula (25 not out).

The bottom half Semi Final at the Colts grounds between CDB Finance and CL Synergy was abandoned due to dangerous wicket. 

CDB batting first were 11 for 2 in 30.1 overs when the Umpires stopped play as the wicket was playing dangerous. According to the MCA tournament rules and playing conditions, in the event a semi-final ends in a no result, the next option to declare the winner was to enforce the “bowl out” contest.

The CL Synergy bowlers knocked down the wickets more time than the CDB Bowlers to advance to the final. 

Hayleys Group beat Fairfirst Insurance by three wickets.
