Hillwood College, Kandy held their Colours Award Ceremony, with 156 students receiving awards. Bherunda, the most prestigious award given by the school to a student for a significant contribution in the sporting field, went to swimming sesnsation Dilrukshi Perera and netballers Ruvini Yatigammana, Hashini Perera and Kaveena Rajapaksha.
Touring colours were awarded to 14 students who secured first, second and third places in international tournaments. Colours were awarded to six students who secured first, second and third places at All-Island competitions. In addition, over 100 students received Merit and Super Merit Awards.
The event was held under the distinguished patronage of Dr. Daminda Attanayake, Sports and Exercise Physician at the Institute of Sport Medicine, Ministry of Sports. Zonal Director of Education M.W. Wijeratne was the Guest of Honour.
