Hirushan and Praneeth to represent Sri Lanka Youth in boxing

Two lads from Vidyartha College, Hirushan Wijesinghe and Praneeth Heenkenda will represent the Sri Lanka Youth Boxing outfit from 22 to 24 Aug at the Taipei City Cup Boxing Tournament in Taipei.

Hirushan has won Gold Medals at Stubbs Shield, L.V. Jayaweera and School’s Tournaments in the past. Meanwhile Heenkenda has accounted for L.V. Jayaweera, Stubbs Shield and third place at the T.B. Jayan Meet in the past. Another Old Boy of Vidyartha College, Lal Amunugama will be the Head Coach of the outfit along with Royal Head Coach, Abdulla lbunu.

Rest of the boxers in the touring squad are D.M.R.J. Dharmathilake (Gankanda Maha Vidyalaya), T.B. Meegala (Royal Colombo), T. Asiill (Zahira Maradana), and M.P.M. Nimsara (Presidents College Veyangoda) (SJ)
