Inaugural Eagles Catalina Cup: Manori and Erandika wins

The Inaugural Eagles Catalina Golf Cup saw Manori Jayakody and Erandika Gunawardena winning the Ladies and Gents Net segments at the Sri Lanka Air Force Golf course in Koggala. 

With this win Eagles Catalina monthly winner for the Ladies was Manori Jaykody with Erandika Gunawardena taking away the Gents Catalina Monthly award. This monthly event which will be a continued event from this month onwards will be a much looked forward event for the golfers to play in Down South.

In the Ladies net event with Manori Jayakody winning the monthly medal, Pravina Dunuwile secured the gross winner title and also claimed the Longest Drive award for the ladies segment.

In the Gents Erandika Gunawardena clinched the monthly medal honour, while Prabath Wijekoon took home the gross winner title.

 Air Vice Marshal (Rtd.) Udula Wijesinghe demonstrated consistency across the board, finishing as both gross and net runner-up. In the ladies’ competition, Manori Jayakody added to her monthly medal win by securing the gross runner-up position, with Pravina Dunuwila finishing as the net runner-up.

 The Gents Longest drive contest was won by Air Vice Marshal Suresh Fernando, showing his power off the tee.

 This inaugural event sets the stage for future monthly competitions in the Eagles Catalina Cup series, providing golfers with regular opportunities to show their skills and compete for honours at the Koggala Air Force Golf Course. (SJ)
