Inaugural Lawyers’ Cricket League gets underway

The Inaugural Lawyers’ Cricket League (LCL) organised by Sri Lanka Lawyers Cricket commenced last weekend. It is the first ever main stream cricket tournament in Sri Lanka with all the participating teams from a single professional organisation.   

Many practicing and corporate lawyers from all over the country were pooled into four teams, namely Wayamba Tuskers, Western Warriors, Central Lions and Ruhunu Legends, and they will compete in a T20 league tournament for the Justice Suresh Chandra Trophy. 

The first round matches are being played at the Galle International Stadium, Kurunegala Welagedara Stadium, Kandy Asgiriya Stadium, while the Final is scheduled to take place at Thurstan Grounds, Colombo on 15 June.
