Independence Cup Hockey 6’s to commence on 16 Feb.

The Independence Cup Hockey 6’s 2025 is poised to deliver an exciting display of skills and sportsmanship on 16 February at the University Ground in Peradeniya. The day will commence at 7 a.m. with Lions Club of Grandpass organising this prestigious tournament which will feature top-tier teams competing in both the men’s and women’s segments.

The women’s division consists of:

Group A – Kandy HC, Wennappuwa HC, Dimbulagala SC, and Paulians HC

Group B – Colombo Ladies, Rangiri DHC, St. Anthony’s GHC, and KDU

The men’s competition is structured into four groups featuring elite teams: 

Group A – Pera HC, Caterians, Old Sylsvestrians HC, Colombo Colts, Wennappuwa HC

Group B – Negombo SC, Old Kingswoodians, Gunners, Maradana SC and Old Rajans HC

Group C – Kings HC, Engineers, KDU, KH and FC, Old Zahira HC

Group D – Vidyartha HC, Manikdewela SC, U O Peradeniya, Sinha Regiment and Matale Star HC.
