India, Pakistan knocked out of Under-19 Asia Cup

• Bangladesh and UAE meet in final on Sunday

Asian giants India and Pakistan were both knocked out of the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup final at Dubai yesterday.

In the semi-finals Bangladesh defeated India by four wickets chasing down a target of 189 with Ariful Islam playing a match-winning innings of 94 off 90 balls (9 fours, 4 sixes) and left-arm seamer Maruf Mridha capturing 4/41 to dismiss India for 188.In the second semi-final UAE continued their giant-killing spree by beating Pakistan by 11 runs with three balls to spare in a thrilling contest. UAE batting first totalled 193 and dismissed Pakistan for 182 with three wickets falling to run outs. UAE had earlier in a group match defeated Sri Lanka to qualify for the semi-finals.

Bangladesh and UAE will meet in the final on Sunday.
