The two unbeaten sides met at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground in Antigua and Barbuda as England went in search of only their second title, but it was India who extended their record of most tournament wins with their fifth win winning the final by four wickets with 14 balls to spare.

Raj Bawa took five for 31 as England lost wickets early in their innings before 95 from James Rew saw them reach 189 and restore hopes in the push for a first trophy since 1998.

It was not to be as both Shaik Rasheed and Nishant Sindhu made fifties before Dinesh Bana crashed back-to-back sixes to seal the win as India replied with 195-6.

A fine all-round performance from Nivethan Radhakrishnan fired Australia to third place with a two-wicket win over Afghanistan.

The ambidextrous all-rounder took three for 31 to limit Afghanistan to 201 all out batting first, before notching a half-century in the chase. Australia were made to sweat but eventually snuck home with five balls to spare.
