The Sri Lanka National pool Golfers limbered up for another hotly contested LECTRA Grand-Prix 2019 – July Edition, as 48 Golfers teed-off in the cool climes of Nuwara Eliya at the NEGC Course, nestled within the busy town of Nuwara Eliya.
Consistent Veteran J.M.D. Indika took a narrow one stroke lead from LECTRA Grand-Prix overall leader G.P. Sisira Kumara, with a steady 1 over par 72 in the opening round of the July Edition, sponsored by Apparel Technologies, a Member of the Bobbin Group of Companies.
Sri Lanka Junior Team captain J.K. Januka Dilshan continued his consistency sharing second place with Sisira Kumara on 73 one shot behind the leader. The trio of B.A. Sanjeewa, National Amateur Champion M.U. Chanaka Perera and Navinda Ranga shared fourth place one stroke further behind on 74. Local Amateur B. Vinoth Kumar occupied seventh place three strokes behind the leader.
The cut-off will be administered with the top 20 qualifying after the Second Round and junior Golfers S. Dhuwarshan (NEGC) and Haroon Aslam (VGCR) stayed in contention.
