Havelocks Sports Club continued their unbeaten run in the Inter Club League when they edged out CH and FC by 20 points (three tries, one conversion, one penalty) to 17 (two tries, two conversion, one penalty) at Havelock Park under lights last week-end.

The scores stood at 17 apiece with a minute left in injury time when former Peterite, Sandesh Jayawaickrema was on target with a penalty kick to take the Park Club through.

At the short breather, winners led 12/3.

Havies dominated proceedings through some very good ball handling and coordination between their forwards and three-quarter line.

CH and FC, who were poor in ball handling dropped some circular passes which did not reach the three quarter-line or reached a yard slower.

CH who settled down well in the later half played cohesive rugby.

Havies scored their tries through Asitha Punchihewa, Theekshana Dasanayake and Mithun Hapugoda with one try converted by fly half, Sandesh Jayawickrema.

For the CH and FC, tries were scored by Ganuka Dissanayake and Janindu Dilshan with Thenuka Dissanayake converting both. Three minutes in to injury time with the scores on level at 17 apiece, Havies received Penalty where Sandesh Jayawickrema was on target.

Referee Aaqil Jamaldeen did a good job with the whistle.
