CH hold the edge

CH & FC will be fully pumped up in the Plate Segment to secure a win and continue their unbeaten run when they host Police Sports Club at Racecourse on 28 February.

Kick off is at 4 p.m.

CH led by Janidu Dilshan having played 10 games so far winning 5 of them and securing 33 points while the Cops playing one match less than their opponents are at 21 points. CH got some outstanding players such as Pulasthi Dassanayake, Vimukthi Gamage, Pasindu Bandara, Dinesh de Silva, and skipper Janidu Dilshan playing some top class rugby season.

The Cops outfit are led by Lahiru Thilakaratne got Akash Madushanka, Amjad Faumy and Hafiz Thabeeth playing some top quality rugby for the Police outfit. A win here for CH will cement their chances of the Plate trophy this year and a fixture against Air Force in the Clifford Cup Quarter Finals later next month.

Referee will be Kelum Sandaruwan or Aruna Shantha.

Army out to continue winning form

Army Sports Club will be all out to continue their winning ways in the Plate Segment when they battle it out with Sri Lions Sports Club away at Racecourse ground on 1 March.

Kick off is at 4 p.m.

Army so far played 9 matches winning 4 of them and securing 24 points and placed second behind CH & FC in the Plate Segment. Meanwhile Sri Lions out of their 10 games won 2 of them losing out their steam compared to the first round mainly more than six of their players nursing with injuries.

Army got ample talent with players such as Isuru Medagedera, Nalaka Maduranga and Ashan Bandara leading from the front. Soldiers are in with an opportunity for the Plate Trophy if they continue their winning streak. Soldiers are led by Nalaka Maduranga.

Sri Lions played some cohesive rugby early part of the first round beating the much fancied CH & FC and Navy as well. They are led by former Peterite, Kevin Dixon, Dinuk Amarasinghe, Mohamed Nizran, Dulaj Nawodya and Chandimal being omnipresent for the debutante.

Referee Raveen Alexander will officiate this encounter.
