The Inter-Schools Rugby Sevens 2024 will be worked off at the Royal Sports Complex on 20 and 21 April sans many as 10 leading schools who decided to keep away from the tournament. Isipathana College will be defending their title.5
The main reasons they keep away is due to the Ordinary Level exams in 2 weeks and the upcoming more important different format of XV a side rugby which will be commencing only in 6 weeks from now.
Isipathana, the defending champions, beat St. Peter’s at the last tournament. Other participating teams are Dharmaraja, Vidyartha, Sri Rahula, Royal, Science, Prince of Wales, Piliyandala Central, Lumbini, Maliyadeva, Ananda, St. Benedict’s, Carey, St. Aloysius, Panadura Sumangala, Richmond, Nalanda, and Sri Piyarathne.
