Ishanka to blow in South Korea

Former Nugawela Central referee and one of the most respected referees in Sri Lanka, Ishanka Abeykoon, was selected as one of the referees for the first leg of Asia Rugby (AR) Sevens 2024, which will take place in South Korea on 7 and 8 September.

This tournament will take place at the Incheon Namdong Asiad Rugby Field in Incheon, South Korea. 

Unfortunately, Sri Lanka will need to qualify themselves at the Nepal tournament, which is scheduled to take place in October 2024. In case Sri Lanka qualifies, they will get an opportunity to participate in the final leg in Thailand during the month of November 2024.

The selected referees were: Craig Chan Chung Ho, Sunny Lee Chui Yan, and Francesco William Cammisa (from Hong Kong China Rugby), Ano Kuwai, Ibuki Tetsuka, Tetsuya Hirakawa, and Hibiki Ikeda (from the Japan Rugby Football Union), Jaco De Wit (United Arab Emirates Rugby Federation), Lin Wei Ming (Sonny Lin) (Chinese Taipei Rugby Football Union), Ishanka Abeykoon (Sri Lanka Rugby), and Leow Wei Liang (Singapore Rugby Union).                (SJ)
