Isipathana continue winning streak

Isipathana College displayed fine running rugby to beat St Thomas College by 29 points (4 tries, 3 conversions, 1 penalty) to 13 points ( 1 try, 1 conversion, 2 penalties) in their Dialog Knock Out rugby encounter, which was worked out at Havelock Park yesterday.

At the shirt breather, Isipathana led 22/6. The Green Shirts displayed fine running rugby in the initial half scoring three magnificent tries  Quality of rugby with very good hands and went into several phases. 

Meanwhile, Thomians started well but could not continue their rhythm. Their defence was also, all over when the Green Shirts began attacking. Yehan Bulathsinghalage drew first blood in the 12th minute of the game through a 35-meter penalty kick. 

The Green Shirts replied through a fine three-quarter try by their centre Rinesh Silva missed the conversion kick. Rineshwho was fast on a knock-on, and the Thomians scored a dandy try. Palith Mihsara added the extras to take the 15/3 lead. 

Yehan Bulathsinghalage was on target with his second penalty kick to cut the deficit by 9 points. But the Green Shirts were unstoppable when Soorya Dodangoda planted the third Pathana try. Palith Mihsara added the extras to take the short breather at 22/6.

After the turn around M. Botheju scored the try for Isipathana while M Hakeem scored their solitary try for Thomians.
