Isipathana continues winning streak; beats St. Peter’s

Isipathana College continued their unbeaten streak when they got the better of St. Peter’s College by 29 points (5 tries, 2 conversions) to 17 points (3 tries, 1 conversion) in their Dialog Schools Under-20 League encounter which concluded at the Havelock Park yesterday.

At the short breather winners led 12/7.

The game was played at a hectic pace with the Green Shirts showing a good speed and acting a yard faster than their opponents. Meanwhile the lads from Bambalapitiya played well in patches but lacked the finishing touches. Isipathana who scored a bonus point win remain as one of the unbeaten teams in the league along with Joes.

Referee was Ishanka Abeykoon. As soon as the game was over, the referee had to run for cover as part of the spectators encroached the playing area and the safety of the officials was in danger.
