Isipathana legends vs present boys at rugby on 3 June

Defending League Champions, Isipathana College will kick off the 2023 rugby season on 3 June when they lock horns with their Old Boys at Havelock Park.

Kick-off is scheduled to be at 4 pm.

The present Boys will be led by star player, Naveen Kanishka while the Legends outfit led by 2011 Isipathana College skipper, Devinda Prasad. Devinda represented the Havies and Navy SC in Club rugby after leaving school.

Legends outfit will have some top class national players such as Srinarth Sooriyabandara, Adeesha Weerathunge, Omalka Perera, Vishvamithra Jayasinghe, Costa brothers, Bimal Perera, Sudath Sampath, Kapila Silva, Viraj Prashanth and Thushara Bandara. In fact Thushara Bandara is playing for the Old Boys in tandem for the last 35 years which is a unique record.

Match will be officiated by another Old Boy and World Rugby recognized, Dilroy Fernando supported by Gamini Indrasena and Isuru Perera.
