Isipathana to defend title

Isipathana College will defend the All Island Under-16 rugby title when they lock horns at the Central Province Rugby Football Union (CPRFU) conducted Ten-a-side Invitational rugby tournament which will be played today and tomorrow at the Trinity College Rugby Stadium in Pallekele.

The kick-off is scheduled at 8 a.m. on both days.

Nippon Paint will be the title  sponsor of this event where there will be 26 teams locking horns in eight groups with the initial day’s encounters being the group encounters. Day 2 will see Cup, Plate, Bowl and Shield encounters worked off on a knock out basis. Royal College and St. Peter’s College are the two notable absentees.

This event is organised by CPRFU under the leadership of Kavinda Jayasena and his hard working committee with the support from Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) headed by Rizly Ilyas.
