Japan’s Rintaro appointed Head Coach of Sri Lanka Baseball

Rintaro Tsukamoto, a seasoned coach from Japan, has been appointed as a volunteer coach for Sri Lankan Baseball outfit with the collaboration of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). 

Speaking to Daily FT Tsukamoto said: “I am honoured to be part of the Sri Lanka Baseball team and I am eager to contribute to the development of the sport in this beautiful country. Baseball has a rich history in both Japan and Sri Lanka, and I believe this collaboration will help nurture the talent and passion that already exists here.”

The collaboration between JICA and Sri Lanka Baseball is part of a broader initiative to strengthen sports ties between the two nations and promote cultural exchange. This partnership is expected to not only improve the technical aspects of baseball in Sri Lanka but also foster stronger bonds between the countries. 

The new coach was welcomed at the Department of External Resources recently by Sri Lanka Baseball Assistant Secretary Sri Lanka Air Force Sqd Leader Mark Fonseka. – (SJ)
