Jason Fernando missed out on a well-deserved century by 2 runs

Fifties from Jason Fernando and Joshua Sebastian saw Sri Lanka end the first day of the first Under17 three-day match against Bangladesh on 245-7 at the Galle International Cricket Stadium yesterday.

Fernando, batting with great resolve missed out on a well-deserved century when he was dismissed for 98 and scored off 163 balls (10 fours, 1 six).

With Sebastian who made an attractive 53 off 63 balls (9 fours), the pair put on 102 for the fifth wicket after Sri Lanka had lost their first four wickets for 90 invited to bat first.
