The 4 team-Sri Lanka outfit for the 133rd Sri Lanka Open Amateur Championship will take place till 10 November at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) with the Ladies event of the qualifying round taking place from 6 to 8 November.
This is the oldest amateur tournament outside the United Kingdom has attracted some top class golfers around the Asian region.
Chalitha Pushpika and Chanaka Perera will play in the Sri Lanka A while 16 year old Asian International School boys, Jevahn Sathasivam and P.D.S.U. Kumara will play in the B team. Majority of players from India and Pakistan will tee off in this event which will run across for 5 days.Net 1st round winner and runner up will win the Illankoon Cup while the runner up while the Sri Lanka Golf Union Trophy will be awarded to the best aggregate net winner and runner up. Meanwhile the Team event winner and runner up will receive the Dudley Senanayake Cup.
Final will take place on 10 November with 36 hole event.
