Jevahn Sathasivam played some extraordinary golf on Day 2 to take the lead at the end of the day at the Sri Lanka Junior Open Golf Championship 2024 at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) yesterday.
Prima Sunrise props up this Junior Golf event for more than 17 years.
Jevahn Sathasivam clinched the top spot in the Boys’ Gold Division with an impressive total of 140 (72, 68), narrowly edging out Adithya Weerasinghe, who finished with 141 (70, 71). Reshan Algama secured third place with a total of 151 (77, 74).
Kaya Daluwatte emerged as the leader in the Girls’ Gold/Silver Division, displaying what overseas exposure can do for her golf, with a stellar total of 139 (70, 69). Anumi Karunathilake finished at 163 (87, 76), displaying promise for the future by finishing at number two.
Thejas Rathis Kanth leads in the Boys’ Silver Division with a total of 150 (76, 74), while Kaiyan Johnpillai came in second just three strokes behind with a total of 153 (76, 77).
In the Boys’ Bronze Division, Lavindu Premarathne secured top position with a total of 107 (53, 54). Revaan Amarasinghe followed closely with 110 (53, 57). For the Girls, Genuli Weerakoon claimed the top position with 131 (66, 65), while Vihara Herath finished second with 142 (77, 65).
The youngest competitors displayed remarkable skill, with Yuvan Rathis Kanth on top in the Boys’ Copper Division at 64 (33, 31). Jaeden Sathasivam with 65 (31, 34) closely followed at number two.
In the Girls’ division, Ananya Kishanthan was on top with 81 (40, 41). Dulkini Kangara 87 (45, 42) was placed second on Day 2.
