Joes edge out Royal in Football

St. Joseph’s College, Colombo edged out Royal College, Colombo 2/1 in final of the Under 18 Division I Schools’ Football Championship which took place recently at the Sugathadasa Stadium. Joes beat Kinniya Central while Royal beat Zahira on penalty shoot-out. Shenal Sandesh (Golden Boot and Golden Ball) and Mohamed Ashad (Golden Glove) won the awards. Shenal Sandesh and Kavinda Rupasinghe scored for the Darley Road outfit while Mohamed Ameen scored the only goal for the Royal outfit.
