7 Sri Lankan players get picked for IPL 2025

So much for Sri Lanka’s T20I batting that only Kamindu Mendis was selected to play in his maiden IPL tournament for Sunrisers Hyderabad at the two-day auction held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Of the seven Sri Lankan players picked by the different franchises the other six were bowlers.

The 7 Sri Lankan players with their franchise and selling price:

Chennai Super Kings – Matheesha Pathirana (INR13 crore)
Delhi Capitals – Dushmantha Chameera (INR75 lakh)
Rajasthan Royals – Wanindu Hasaranga (INR5.25 crore), Maheesh Theekshana (INR4.40 crore)
Royal Challengers Bengaluru – Nuwan Thushara (INR1.60 crore)
Sunrisers Hyderabad – Kamindu Mendis (INR75 lakh), Eshan Malinga (INR1.20 crore)
