Former Trinitian and State Minister for Plantations Kanaka Herath was elected as the President of the Sri Lanka Table Tennis Association at their virtual Annual General Meeting recently.
Isipathana alumnus and veteran banker Reza Latiff and Anandian Saman Ratnayake were selected as Secretary and Treasurer respectively.
Finalising the lease agreement for the Bandaragama indoor stadium and pool complex, amending the existing TTASL constitution, providing TT tables to schools, conducting a South Asian TT tournament in 2022, conducting TT tournaments throughout the Island, launching the district-wide TT training pool for district-ranked players, preparing a long term and short term development plan, commencing the High Performance Development (HPD) program, commencing the senior and junior national training pools, starting a welfare program for players, and providing advance training to coaches and umpires, are a few of the programs prioritised by the incoming committee.
