Defending league and Clifford Cup champions Kandy Sports Club will hold its 2021/2022 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 28 November at their club house in Nittawela. It is expected to get underway at 10 a.m.
Former Trinity, national Sevens and XVs player, Nigel Ratwatte is expected to lead the outfit for 2021/2022 rugby season.
Current President of the Club Mahesh Weerasinghe is tipped to continue for yet another term, with hard working former Trinitian Sujeewa Liyanage to continue at the vital position of Secretary.
Players are already training for the Inter Club Sevens scheduled to take place in January. Kandy SC will be minus three of their crack players, who will be migrating shortly. Jason Dissanayake and Buwanaka Udangamuwa will migrate, while Mohamed Shabeer has left the country for employment. Further they lost out on Ashan Darling and Ganuka Dissanayake, who have joined CH&FC. A few schoolboys from leading schools are expected to don the Kandy jersey and it will be a team building process for the up-country outfit.
