Kandy started off well settling in the initial half through their speedy three-quarter line. Nigel Ratwatte, Tharinda Ratwatte. Shanushka Abeywickrema, Damith Dissanayake and Lavanga Perera all looked a yard faster and hunger to score at every given opportunity.

Meanwhile their young and mobile forwards too were up an duty not being send to their three-quarter line. They piled up 5 tries in the initial half but in the early part of second half they lost their focus a bit as their opponents were more at them than the ball. Meanwhile Army went out of option most part if the game with lack of game plan. Early second half they went for Man instead of the ball and young referee Ravin Alexander too lost his control in the later half.

Kandy SC scored their tries through Lavanga Perera (2), Kavindu Perera, Shanushka Abeywickrema, Dilan Ekanayake, Malitha Wijesooriya, Lakshitha Ranaweera and Chathura Soysa scored for Kandy while Tharinda Ratwatte had a poor day in kicking for his high standards converting only three of them.
