Kandy Sports Club will be kicking off their Super Round in the Cup segment when they play with Sri Lanka Air Force in their only away game in the Super Round at Ratmalana today.
Kick-off is at 4 p.m.
Kandy looks like an outfit playing in a different league as they are unstoppable this season so far remaining the only unbeaten outfit in the 9-teams event. Further they are at a major advantage as their last two games against CR and Havies in the Super Round will be back home at Nittawela.
Led by tactical, Srinarth Sooriyabandara Kandy got ample experience in their outfit with Nigel Ratwatte, Tarinda Ratwatte, Danushka Ranjan and Dinal Ekanayake all in top form this season plus their approach to the game being simply outstanding and professional.
Heshan Jensen settled well in his scrum half position which has pushed skipper Soori to occupy full back position. In forwards play Dahan Wickramarachchi and Dilshard Fareed stood out this season for Kandy.
The Air Force outfit comes into the Cup segment after 13 long years which is remarkable. Their Head Coach Asela Deshapriya did a magnificent job in a short span of time.
Air Force led by Romesh Wasantha, experienced Gayantha Iddamalgoda and Ishara Madushan all three were outstanding plus their two national players, Shashika Fernando and Darshana Dabare, helped the armed forces in a big way this season.
Referee Gihan Yatawara will officiate this game.
