Kandy out to continue winning streak

Defending league champions, Kandy Sports Club will be coming out for the second time this season in front of their home crowd at Nittawela when they host the Sailors. 

National sevens player, Buddhima Piyarathne will making his debut for the up country cub against his former club.

Kick-off is scheduled at 3:45 p.m.

Kandy will be expected to continue their winning streak though without some big names for this encounter as well. Ranjan, Richard, Wilwara and Ali will be missing from the starting line-up due to injury. 

Kandy has made some changes with bringing in Sooriyabandara, Uchithra Jayasuriya, Buddhima Piyaratne and Jason Dissanayake coming in for Jansen, Damith and Dange and Shehan Pathirana. 

Dange is nursing with an injury will be missed for two weeks. He had a grand outing at the Air Force game. Nigel will be once again leading the outfit with full Back, Thilina Wijesinghe taking the kicking duties with Tharinda Ratwatte to support him if required.

Meanwhile Sailors will be expecting a good show after their dismal performance against a fresher full Havies outfit, led by Richie Dharmapala supported by Thilina Weerasinghe, Musheena Faleel and Chathura Seneviratne. 

Thilina and Chathura will be doing the kicking duties for the Welisara outfit. After ending seventh last year Sailors need to wake up fast and perform to their top level if to have some hope to finish in the top five of the league encounter.
