Defending League Champions Kandy Sports Club will be all out to continue their winning streak when they lock horns with CR and FC at Longdon Place on 17 December.

Usually, this encounter comes later part of the first half but since CR ended in the bottom half this game was scheduled as the second encounter for the lads from Up Country.

Kandy Sports Club led by Damith Dissanayake displayed good running rugby in their opening encounter against the Army outfit at home. Playing in Colombo is always been difficult for the lads from the Central Hills will be needing to settle in fast.

They got quality three-quarter players in their line-up players such as Lavanga Perera, Anuruddha Wilwara, Kavindu Perera, Tharinda Ratwatte, Nigel Ratwatte and Danushka Ranjan. Meanwhile their forwards to are young and mobile. Led by Damith Dissanayake, Chathuranga Soysa, Tharindu Chathuranga and Lasith Attanagoda displayed good forwards play in their first outing.

Meanwhile Red Shirts too possess a quality outfit. Led by Kavindu de Costa, Lahiru Pavithra, Vageesha Weerasinghe, Lasindu Ishan, Thenuka Nannayakkara, Chathura Seneviratne, Supun Warunakulasuriya all class acts on their day. CR will be all out to prove a point as in 2022/2023 they are celebrating their Centenary year. They edged out Havies 23/21 in their opener.

Close encounter expected at CH vs Navy

Navy Sports Club will be all out to continue their winning streak when they confront CH and FC who are smarting from a defeat at the hands of Air Force.

Navy SC got some young blood in their outfit who are game changers. Charith Silva, Radeesha Seneviratne, Thilina Weerasinghe, Musheen Faleel and Samuel Maduwantha. They are coached by Saliya Kumara who is one of the best in the field.

Meanwhile CH will be badly looking out for a win in their second game. They are led by Prasad Madushanka, Yoshitha Rajapakse, Sudharshana Muthuthanthri, Avishka Lee, Ovin Hettiarachchi, Johann Ogbebor and Avantha Lee are top class players in their rank.

Police hold the edge

Police SC will be all out to register their first win when they lock horns with the Solders who too are smarting from a defeat at start. So both teams will be all out for a win in this game. This encounter will see Nilfer Ibrahim Heading the Coaching for Cops while his elder brother, Ronny coaching the Army SC.

Nisala Samadhi will lead the Cops with Udara Sanjula, Chanaka Sooriyapperuma, Akash Madushanka and Prince Chamara in their outfit. Meanwhile for the Solders they will need a game plan. They lacked very badly in their first Kandy encounter and stop going at players instead focus on the ball and the game. They are led by Manjula Weerasinghe, Nalaka Maduranga, Ashan Bandara and Chathuranga Perera are their star players.

 

Havies to start winning form

Havelock Sports Club will be away at Ratmalana playing Air Force. Havies were edged out in a thriller in the opening encounter against CR will be all out to start their winning ways. Sandesh Jayawickrema, Azmir Fajudeen, Umesh Maushan, Ramesh Fernando, Chanka Chandimal and Mithun Hapugoda will hold the key for the Park Club to end on a winning side. Meanwhile Air Force will depend on Nuwan Perera, Gayantha Iddamalgoda, Darshana Dabare and Charith Seneviratne will be their key players.
