Under 13 School Cricket
Led by Induruwage Galapitage, Katugastota Antonians reached the Under 13 schools cricket finals where they will play against Royal College, Colombo next week at a neutral venue.
Antonians beat Wickramasheela, Giriulla and won on first innings in rest of their matches against Vidyartha and Ashoka, Colombo and bonus points win against Thurstan, Joes and Prince of Wales on their way to the finals.
The unbeaten Antonians were well supported by their skipper, Induwara (300) with one century against Ashoka Colombo and taking 12 wickets as well. Mohamed Shahad (367), Mohamed Kaiff (349) and Abu Abdulla (283) cracked with the bat.
In the bowling Charuka Ekanayake (24), Mohamed Akeel (21) and Heshan Bandara took the honors. Dimuthu Weerasinghe who is the Coach of the outfit played for Trinity (1990-92) and played junior cricket for the Antonians. He is a level 2 in Brisbane, Australia.
The team includes Nipuna Ratnayake, Mihran Madawa plus their junior coaching staff along with their MIC Lalith Kumara and Sports Coordinator, Niranjan Wijeratne.(SJ)
