The Junior Open at Kilmarnock (Barassie) in Scotland concluded on a high note on Day 3, showing the talents of promising young golfers from around the globe with Kaya Daluwatte securing the top 20 position among the World’s best junior golfers.

The tournament saw Hyosong Lee from Korea emerge victorious with an outstanding gross score of 209, finishing nine under par over the three-day event. Lee’s consistent performance across all three days put her position as a rising star in the world of junior golf.

Among the notable performances was Kaya Daluwatte, who secured a top 20 finish with a commendable gross score of 231. Despite a challenging final round of four over par, Daluwatta’s solid play throughout the tournament has undoubtedly boosted her confidence as she prepares for upcoming competitions in India, where she resides and plays competitive golf. She represented Sri Lanka at the 2023 event as well in Scotland giving her ample exposure plus her playing experience in India took her to next level.  In the boy’s section, the tournament had its share of surprises. Jevahn Sathasivan who had a good day 2 delivered a strong performance, unfortunately did not meet expectations in the end of day 3 under difficult playing conditions. But the exposure these youngsters got will be good for their future events elsewhere.
