Kaya Daluwatte secures 23rd place on day one

Representing Sri Lanka, Kaya Daluwatte showed her consistent skills with a four over par round, tying for 23rd place out of 50 golfers in the girls’ segment at The R&A Junior Open Championship which commenced in Scotland on Tuesday.
Daluwatte was well-placed to make the cut, her steady play reflecting a calm and focused approach.
Jevahn Sathasivam faced challenges on the course, finding himself at the 40th place among the world’s leading 65 junior players. Sathasivam will need to play an exceptional round to secure his place beyond the cut, adding an element of pressure and excitement to his next performance.
The opening round of The R&A Junior Open at Kilmarnock (Barassie), Scotland saw promising young golfers Hyosong Lee, Shauna Liu, and Aidan Lawson sharing the limelight. The tournament teed off with impressive performances and set the stage for an exciting competition with two more days to go.
Leading the boys, Scotland’s Aidan Lawson delivered a superb performance with a two under par round. His performance has set a high bar for his peers and puts him in a strong position moving forward.
