Kingswood College, under the leadership of Aasiri Seneviratne and veteran coach Nilfer Ibrahim, secured the 35th National Games Rugby Championship, which took place in Kurunegala.
In total, 12 teams participated in this event with the lads from Randles Hill retaining the trophy for the second consecutive year. They beat Maliyadeva College 38-7 in the quarterfinal and St. Sylvester’s College 28-0 in the semi-final. In the finals, they beat Moratuwa Maha Vidyalaya 40-0. Moratuwa Maha Vidyalaya made it to the semi-finals after beating Richmond College in their semi-final encounter.
Nippy scrum-half Hirusha Sampath was judged the Player of the Tournament. The Kingswood player of the Tournament was Hirusha Sampath.
