Ladies' and Musaeus battle it out for the Marie Musaeus Higgins Trophy

Ladies’ College and Musaeus College will battle for the Marie Musaeus Higgins Trophy at the 19th Annual Regatta scheduled on 5 October at the Colombo Rowing Club from 1 p.m. onwards.

The regatta will host many boat classes ranging from single sculls, double sculls, coxless pairs and coxed fours. Races will be based on points, with the overall tally adding up to a total of 52. There will be two races per boat class (‘A’ and ‘B’ crews) and will also feature an exhibition

of ‘Under-16 four’, ‘C four’, and an old girls’ race.

Ladies have won the prestigious Marie Musaeus Higgins Trophy 12 times retaining the trophy at Flower Road after last year’s win, while Musaeus is yet to win since their last in 2018. This is the only rowing regatta rivalry between two girls’ schools in Sri Lanka.

The Ladies’ College Rowing Crew is captained by Hayaa Hassen and the Musaeus College Rowing Crew is captained by Yenushka Premaratne.
