Lahiru Udara leads Sri Lanka ‘A’ reply with half-century

Sri Lanka ‘A’ trailed South Africa ‘A’ by 200 runs with eight wickets in hand at the end of the second day of the second four-day unofficial Test played at Benoni.

South Africa ‘A’, resuming at 316-7, was dismissed for 334 with Eshan Malinga and Sonal Dinusha taking three wickets apiece and Isitha Wijesundara cleaning up the tail with two wickets.

Captain and opener Neil Brand top scored for South Africa ‘A’ with 129 off 253 balls with 12 fours and 1 six.

Sri Lanka ‘A’ lost Nuwanidu Fernando (11) and Pavan Rathnayake (15) cheaply for 57, but Lahiru Udara (61* off 110 balls, 9 fours) and skipper Pasindu Sooriyabandara (43* off 73 balls, 6 fours) carried the total to 134-2 by stumps without any further loss.
