Reuters: Sri Lankan opener Dimuth Karunaratne said on Saturday (11 November) that confidence was the key to do well against the home side, India, in the three-match Test series, beginning on 15 November.
Addressing a news conference in India’s eastern Kolkata city after their warm-up match, Karunaratne said except Angelo Mathews and Rangana Herath, none in the squad had any experience of playing on Indian wickets.
He added that such practice matches would help them in adapting ahead of the series.
Sri Lanka will also play three one-day internationals and as many T20Is.
During July-September, the visiting Virat Kohli-led side had whitewashed the Lankan team in all formats.
