Lankan rugby players to tour France

Sri Lanka Sevens rugby players will depart the island early next month to France where they will participate at the World Sevens Games in France during early July. Rugby football will be one of the sports at this event.

The Sri Lankan sevens outfit led by Sudarshana Muthuthanthri who participated at the Commonwealth Games 2018 in Gold Coast in April this year. The outfit is tipped to be filled up with a majority of the same players subject to injury and fitness tests.

This event in France will be a good foundation for the Asian Games in Jakarta later in August 2018. Sri Lankan Sevens players will be hoping to bring home the first team event medal at this event. 

Later in September Sri Lanka will feature at the Asian Sevens 2018 in Hong Kong, South Korea and Sri Lanka in the three-leg event.
