The National Surfing team left to take part at the 2019 Asia Surfing Championships which will be held from November 17 to 24 in Shantou, China.

In the recently-held Surfing International Competition in Arugam Bay, two Lankan surfers performed extremely well in the Top Professional segment, while the another came up with marked improvement.  Now they have set their sights on securing a berth at the 2022 Asian Games to be held in China.

This will be Yashika Shehan’s maiden tour, but the others are well-experienced in competing in major surfing events in India, Japan, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Lakshitha Madushan, Praneeth Sandaruwan and Nadeen Sampath are favourites to secure a medal for the country while A.H Milan’s efforts will also be dedicated to the same.
