Four months ago, the Lao Football Federation entered into a ground-breaking partnership with Singaporean sports-tech startup Koach Hub.
Since then, this digitisation initiative which is spearheaded by Technical Director V. Sundramoorthy, alongside Head of Coach Education Herman Zailani has rapidly advanced the integration of technology into the Federation’s operations.
In this brief period, the Federation has successfully on-boarded over 600 academy players and 42 coaches in four centres onto their platform, with launches already underway in two provinces. Technology was also integrated into the recently concluded LFF Elite Youth “B” Diploma coaching course, training coaches in ongoing player monitoring and the development of individual development plans (IDPs).
“The progress achieved by the LFF in recent months has been truly remarkable. Seeing Koach Hub used as intended, with a clear focus on player development and advancing the beautiful game is truly inspiring. This success speaks volumes about the leadership of Coaches Sundram and Herman, as well as the dedication and initiative of the coaches within the Federation. Rarely have we witnessed such rapid progress, and I eagerly anticipate what the future holds” said Koach Hub Co-Founder and CEO Tariq Cassim.
Furthermore, the Federation has launched a “Coaches database” within the platform, granting the Federation Administration instant access to comprehensive coach information nationwide with just a click of a button. Clubs participating in the LFF Youth League which kicked off last weekend also have access to Koach Hub to track match stats and develop individual development plans based on the matches they play.
Speaking about this initiative, the former Singapore National Player Sundram said: “I am thrilled with the progress of our digitisation initiative, which has exceeded all expectations so far. Rolling this out nationwide now enables my team and I to stay connected with development even in remote provinces. The Coaches’ database not only provides insights into all the coaches across Laos but also enhances our understanding of their coaching needs, allowing us to better support their career advancement. I feel that technology such as this would benefit the upliftment of the game not only in Laos, but also within the region.” Head of Coach Learning Herman Zailani mentioned the following: “Lao Football Federation aims to develop coaches who are equipped with the modern demands of the game. This includes coaches who are comfortable with the use of technology as part of their coaching repertoire. Koach Hub has made it possible for our coaches to track player development more effectively. We hope with better management of data, we can develop better training programs and sessions for the players.
