Last chance saloon for seven clubs to qualify

• Three semi-final spots up for grabs on final day of league games 

With SSC having already secured their place in the SLC Major Club Limited Overs semi-finals, the three remaining spots are up for grabs on the final day of group matches commencing today.

SSC tops Group B with 16 points having completed all their fixtures, the battle for second spot is between Badureliya SC, NCC and Bloomfield. Badureliya SC lying second with 13 points take on Chilaw Marians CC at Maggona, while NCC (12) and Bloomfield (11) will battle it out at the Bloomfield grounds. A win for Badureliya SC will see them through to the last four regardless of the Bloomfield-NCC result. 

In Group A, it’s a four-cornered tussle for the top two berths. Current leaders Sebastianites (13 points) take on Air Force SC at Panadura, second placed Colts (12) play hosts to Kurunegala YCC at Colts grounds, third placed Negombo CC (12) meet Ragama CC at Moors grounds, and fourth placed CCC (11) confront Tamil Union at the P Sara Oval.

A win for Sebastianites will see them qualify, while Colts and Negombo CC who are equal on points, if they both win their matches, the positions will be determined on the net run rate. CCC has only an outside chance of qualifying. They have to win and then hope that both Colts and Negombo CC lose their matches.

Other matches down for decision today which will not have any bearing on the semi-final berths are: Galle CC v Police SC at Police grounds, Army SC v Ace Capital CC at Dombagoda, Nugegoda SWC v BRC at Moratuwa and Kandy Customs CC v Panadura SC at Thurstan grounds.
