The Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) is set to host the 113th edition of the prestigious ‘Shakespeare Shield’ on Sunday, 28 July, marking the continuation of Sri Lanka’s oldest and most revered corporate golf tournament.

This eagerly awaited event is a highlight on the RCGC calendar, exclusively open to members and teams from registered companies, diplomatic institutions, government agencies, the police, and the armed forces of Sri Lanka. The one-day stableford competition promises high stakes and intense excitement, with every shot counting.

The Shakespeare Shield Golf Tournament celebrates the legacy of W. Shakespeare, a former Chairman of Carson Cumberbatch PLC and an influential member of the RCGC Committee since 1908. He launched the first ‘Foursomes Competition’ for private companies, banks, and state institutions, and in his honour, the tournament was established in 1911. It has since become an annual tradition, embodying over a century of golfing excellence.
