For the first time in its three-year history the Lanka Premier League (LPL) will hold a live player auction from 9-12 June when the five franchises make their bids for players.
“This year we are going online and showing live the player auction. This way we are promoting the league. We have to take LPL to a different level,” said LPL-4 Tournament Director Samantha Dodanwela.
In the past three years there had been only a player draft where no one knew who had been brought until the final list was released. The overseas player registration is currently open and closes on or before 12 noon (IST) on 25 May.
The fourth edition of LPL is due to commence on 30 July with the final scheduled for 20 August.
