The Ceylonese Rugby Football Club (CR and FC) will host their first league encounter at Longdon Place under lights later next month.
This project was completed in a short span of time. Sports Ministry funded half of the project while the other half were funded by Emirates, Sumal Fernando and Life Members of CR and FC.
CR and FC President Tikiri Ellepola said Access International completed the project in 4 months with ACL Cables and LECO supporting in with their experts. Tikiri speaking further said CR&FC Floodlight subcommittee headed by Sriyan Cooray and Aashiq Lafeer were monitoring the progress ably supported by General Manager Dasun Welhena and the CR and FC ground staff.
He also said CR and FC intend playing all our home matches under lights and will continue with free entrance for matches to encourage spectators to enjoy the atmosphere. Ground will be made available for schools to play their matches under lights for rugby and other sports.
