Asitha Fernando took four wickets for SLC Reds in their match against SLC Greys
Low scoring featured on the opening day of the SLC Skyexch Invitational T20 League at the R. Premadasa Stadium yesterday where SLC Reds led by Kusal Mendis and SLC Blues captained by Charith Asalanka recorded victories.

Blues defended their small total of 122-9 by dismissing SLC Greens for 90 by staging a superb fightback through their bowlers to win by 32 runs in the second double header.
The highest individual score was 37 scored by Ashen Bandara for Blues and by Greens skipper Dasun Shanaka in a match dominated by bowlers.
Asitha Fernando, a late replacement for SLC Reds took four wickets and Lasith Croospulle struck a fine half-century to steer them to six-wicket win over SLC Greys in the curtain-raiser match.
Fernando’s opening burst of three wickets saw Greys struggling at 19-3 in the fourth over from which position they never recovered and managed to post a total of 120-9.
Fernando finished with four wickets, while the top scorer for Greys was Movin Subasingha who struck two sixes and a four in his innings of 32 off 25 balls. Croospulle and Reds skipper Kusal Mendis made light of the target of 121 by putting together an opening stand of 88 off 12 overs to see them home with 19 balls to spare. Croospulle playing freely scored 54 off 44 balls (8 fours) and Mendis struck three sixes in his 34 off 30.
Sri Lanka Cricket stated that fast bowlers Lahiru Kumara and Dushmantha Chameera will not take part in the League due to injuries.
